Synchronicity of sound and story

I finished An Ember in the Ashes today. How many hours of this audiobook did I listen to over the weekend?? It ends on a cliffhanger and I am not allowing myself to download the second book until Thanksgiving break. For now, the next thing in the cue is Bad Boy, a memoir by Walter Dean Myers.

The intensity and majesty of An Ember in the Ashes was matched last night by a concert performance of music by Ola Gjeilo, a Polish composer whose choral music is cinematic in scale and intensity. When you read Ember, you'll understand the synchronicity between it and this piece, which was utterly breathtaking live:
